Tab for John Stinson's #2 (Capo 4 or no capo?)

Introduce and discuss dulcimer tunes from Dulcitunes.com or other web locations

Postby JoeBesse » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:09 pm

I have a tab for the song John Stinson's #2 in DAD, but it does not show a note to use a Capo at fret #4. My tab is arranged by Terry Lewis. I have a CD named "East Texas Jam" and they play this song with Capo at #4. Can someone send me a tab showing the arrangement with the Capo at #4? If this is a copyrighted song just disregard this request. Thanks.

Joe the only big thing that capo at 4 will do is to change the key.. Capo at 4 plays the tune in Key of A... just use your DAd tab but capo there....

Thanks for the note Rod. I know it changes it to the key of A, but the frets will be a lot different. My arrangement uses number starting off, like 02212, etc. I guess I will have to move them all up 4 frets.

If you capo at the 4th fret that position now becomes the 0... so the rest of the frets just play as it is written, don't worry about what they are normally.... some tabs that are written for capo will use the actual fret number, but it's just easy to think as stated above if your are using DAd tab... like 5th fret becomes 1st fret.. and so on.. :D

Thanks Rod. I understand how that works, it is just a little confusing. I will change the numbers on my tab. BTW, I will send you a photo of the stand I built and also one of my PVC stand that holds my dulcimers when not playing. Thanks again for your help. :P
