Erase The Miles

Postby jt3d » Tue Feb 24, 2015 12:45 pm

Here is a YouTube of our group, Black Spotted Bananas, working on a sort of bluegrassy tune called Erase the Miles. It was just recorded with a small camera and an IPhone in the kitchen of my great room, but the sound isn't all that bad considering we didn't mic the vocals or the instruments. I've come to the realization that I will never be a fast player, but I sure am enjoying learning to play underneath everything to add body to the overall sound. Hope you'll enjoy!

Thanks, Karen!

We have a good time trying to put our spin on classic rock from the 60s and 70s and some unknown tunes like Erase.

That was great, I really enjoyed that. The BD blends in well with the other instruments on that song.

Thanks, all!

Worked on a really diverse one for the BD this past weekend with the band - While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles. Once we get it smoothed out, I'll post it. It actually came out better than we thought it would - they wanted the BD on the song, and I was hesitant at first, but after I worked it up before practice, was happy with the result.

Ken - I hadn't forgotten calling you to come by and pick up the latest CD offering! Things just got nuts here at work and I haven't even been able to break away at lunch or until late in the p.m. If all else fails, I pick one up on Thursday or Friday night at the PMBDF.
I don't know if the hotel would let you do it or not, but you should set up a table in our playing room with your CDs for sale!

Hi Jim,

I always have CDs in my case so they are always with me. It will be good to see you and hoepfully play a few tunes as well. Glad to see you're doing more with the BD!

Ken - its always amazing the response I get regarding the bowed dulcimer when we play out or post a video. As a result, the guys in the group want me to incorporate it into more of what we are doing. It has become my wife's favorite instrument of the ones I tinker with.
