Thanks for letting people know about our new podcast for the mountain dulcimer. Over time, we plan to cover a lot of topics. So far, we have two episodes up:

Episode 1: Scheitholt Part 1 with Ben Seymour
Episode 2: Joni Mitchell's Dulcimers with Joellen Lapidus and Rick Scott

To listen, you can either subscribe in iTunes to get new episodes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/hearts-of-the-dulcimer/id1014348960?at=1010l5QM

or stop by our website and listen directly there: http://dulcimuse.com/podcast

We'd love to hear from you! If you'd like to leave us a comment and suggestion, there is a form on our website. Or leave me a message here.

Hi,

It's been awhile since I posted here ... we now have 10 Hearts of the Dulcimer podcast episodes! For each episode, we create a resource page that has the list of songs we played in the episode, photos, etc. You can find the list of the 10 episodes here: http://dulcimuse.com/podcast.

Our latest episode is about Howard Rugg.

As of today, we have 20 Hearts of the Dulcimer Podcast episodes. Our mission is to explore the mountain dulcimer's past, present, and future. You can listen to the podcast from our website: http://dulcimuse.com/podcast or in any podcast app.

Here's a wonderful article by Joellen Lapidus about Aaron O'Rourke: https://folkworks.org/columns/dulcimer-jazz-joellen-lapidus/46334-interview-with-aaron-o-rourke We'll be having Aaron on a Hearts of the Dulcimer Podcast episode later this year.

We featured Joellen in two Hearts of the Dulcimer Podcast episodes talking about Joni Mitchell (episode #2) and Richard Fariña (episode #5):

Our latest Hearts of the Dulcimer Podcast episode is about the trio AppalAsia with Jeff Berman on mountain dulcimer, Susan Powers on banjo, and Mimi Jong on the Chinese instrument the erhu. This episode (#21) is called AppalAsia: Bridging Traditions.

Episode's description:
With the unusual combination of two American and one Chinese instrument, the trio AppalAsia bridge the Appalachian and Chinese music traditions to create music that is soulful, sophisticated, and genre bending.

You can listen to this episode on your smartphone’s podcast app, directly in iTunes (http://bit.ly/hotdpodcast), or on the episode resource page on our website: http://dulcimuse.com/podcast/resource/021.html

You can find links to the music played in this episode as well as photos, videos, and the episode's song list: http://dulcimuse.com/podcast/resource/021.html
