Truth in Advertising

I do believe, with all due respect, that this phrase on the main-site entry page is incorrect:
"How does EverythingDulcimer.com continue to be the leading place for great dulcimer information? Because of the members of the national dulcimer community who routinely share information."

This, in my humble opinion should read: "Because of the members of the international dulcimer community who routinely share information."

In respect to our Australian and European and Other community members.

Merely a suggestion, thank you,
- Tony

These are excellent points. I noticed that there has been no change to the wording. I haven't been on this site for over 4 months now. Is it still being maintained, or is it just cruising along?

I have to admit that this is the first time I saw this discussion. I almost never visit the home page, but go directly to the discussions, so I don't know how I missed this. My guess is that when Bruce started ED, he thought in terms of the US interest in the MD and HD, probably never considering that there was international interest. One of the good things about the Internet is that it knows no boundaries. On the home page there is a place where you can click "contact us." Have you tried writing Bruce directly and suggesting this change. The other person to contact would be Ron Zuckerman. I don't know if he has the ability to make that kind of editorial change or not. I do not think that I can do that as a moderator. I do think adding the "inter" to national is a great idea.

No, honestly I have not written directly. I'm not comfortable in intruding into personal space with something so trivial. I don't "know" the founders very well. Figured this was the appropriate venue for such suggestions. And, merely a suggestion at that.

Perhaps back in the founding days, there was very little interest in MD and HD internationally. And therefore it never occurred to the copy writer of the time that we'd enjoy so much participation from around the world. Fortunately though, our favorite subject has grown in influence and reach.

Perhaps this topic will come up at the next board meeting or content review committee.

Until then, I wish you all a Wonderful, Dulcimer-filled Day :D

Well, that certainly made me laugh. I'll email Bruce and make the suggestion for you. Thanks for being interested enough to suggest it.

I've made the update, but Bruce has to accept it for the site to be updated.

Yeah man, I saw it too.
Thanks.
I hope that tiny little detail helps international folks feel more welcome to our lil' corner of the interwebs world.
Cheers,
