All strummers welcome!

Hello All, I recently have found that one of my dulcimers, at least to my ear, sounds better when played in DAC as opposed to DAD. I would invite your comments and insights on this issue. Is it my instrument or perhaps my aged ears?. Thanks in advance for your kind attention. Tony

Most probably your ears. It is true that some instruments are better in C (CGG, CGc etc) than D (DAA, DAd...) for example, but I'm not sure that carries to the melody string tunings.

You always wanted an instrument specially for those wonderful weepy, wailing minor key songs anyway, didn't you. Good excuse for another dulcimer... :D

Tony, it is possible your instrument has a "sweet spot" when tuned to DAC. If so, wonderful you found it and now you need to learn all the Aolian tunes!
