SOLD Amplifier - Mackie SRM 150 Portable

Postby elmasula » Fri Mar 15, 2013 4:39 pm

I'm selling a MACKIE SRM 150 PORTABLE AMP. It can be carried in one hand and weighs only a few pounds. It has true, clear sound and is a great little amp. I'm only selling it as I received a new amp for my birthday. It does a great job with my hammer and mountain dulcimers. If you are interested, it is listed on Ebay. Go to Ebay and type in item number 111028741470. The unit retails for about $250. I'm asking $175 plus $25 shipping.

Just a quick question...
You mention that you've used this with your R.L.Tack.
Is some kind of pre-amp needed in addition, or do you just plug in and go?

Thank you!

Most instruments using either piezo or stick on pickups benefit from adding a pre amp to boost the signal. Magnetic pickups are stronger and it isn't as much of an issue with them. Active magnetic pickups use a battery mounted somewhere in the instrument, and have the least need for a pre amp. The answer kinda depends on what type of pickup you use on your dulcimer.

Thanks... The R.L.Tack has a built in microphone (type or brand unknown to me). It is very handy for plugging in a tuner, but I haven't tried to use it for amplification as yet. I was curious how Elmasula has her R.L.Tack set up with this amp.

Do you still have this amp for sale? If so, I'm going to ask you lots of dumb questions, hahaha!

Cheers,
