Case for my Simerman Dulcimer

Postby cforget » Mon Apr 25, 2016 4:05 pm

I am still looking for a dulcimer case for my Simerman. Would like to get a hard case that it would fit in. Thanks for any help.

Sporting goods stores have rifle cases which can be adapted to protect dulcimers. My S has a great case which came with it. Another option would be to find a handyman to make a wood case to which you could attach handle and padding yourself.

I bought a hard case from Gary Sager several years ago, listed on my receipt as a "TKL Deluxe Lrg Dulcimer Case". It doesn't seem to be on Gary's website now. A web search led to the TKL website with a Premier Dulcimer case ($189.95 retail) with the dimensions of 36" long; upper bout 4.75"; lower bout 7.75"; depth 4". Would that fit your Simerman?

No, the lower bout is about 1" wider. Thanks, though. Appreciate your checking on it.

Cheryl, check out Academy. They might have a hunting bow case in stock at a good price. I bought one a few years ago for $10.00 and it will hold just about any size dulcimer. The case also has a large smaller case attached which will hold a small traveling type dulcimer.
