Question about Jim Hudson or J&K dulcimers

What do you need to know, Tom? Back in the 1990s I saw Jim often and thought his instruments to be excellent. He worked hard to produce a durable, playable, and great sounding instrument. If you have the opportunity to buy one, I would not hesitate. If you already own one, good for you.

Would really like any info on when or how long Jim manufactured, price range, quality, size range, today's vales.......

Okay. This will not be accurate in that I don't know exact dates, but Jim started selling dulcimers in the 1980s and sold them through the early 2000s. His wife, Kathy, did the decorative work on the instruments. As I recall they sold in the $1200 to $2500 range depending upon the size, woods, and decoration. Perhaps someone will have more accurate information. I have no idea what current prices may be. I could move this discussion to the hammered dulcimer area where you might find someone more knowledgable. Let me know if you would like me to do this.
