Bill Neely dulcimers?

Postby dulcimerduo » Fri Feb 16, 2007 4:56 pm

Anybody know anything about these? There was a lady with one at Mt Dora, and it was an awsome sounding dulcimer. Very well built, very unusual shape, loud, and had a high gloss-guitar like finish on it. I'd love to get my hands on one, anybody know where? I've tried googling him, didn't get any hits..
Help would be appreciated..

Hi Barbara,
I've been doing the same thing.... :D that was one "sexy" dulcimer as Rene called it. Lots of curves. I found a Neely in Fla that makes guitars, but nothing on dulcimers yet. Keep me posted if you find anything. I gave Rene my phone number and e-mail address. Hopefully she'll get back to me about it.

Thanks Moody Tuner, but I've already looked at those, and they don't look anything like the one I saw. It had a label that said Bill Neely dulcimers Damascus Va. It was an unusual shape and beautiful sounding. It also had a hard, guitar finish on it. Quite unusual. I'll keep looking!

Hi Barbara,
Rene called about the Bill Neely dulcimer. I"ll post the web site to the music store. It doesn't show they have them, but the contact information is there. Rene said her's was a custom order, one of a kind that the person didn't want later. There are 2 of his dulcimers at this shop. One a large one like Rene's and I understand it doesn't have as many curves.

let me know if you contact them.
hugs,

Dulcimerduo, try the below website and put in the name Bill Neely using Virginia. I found a fellow with that name that lives in Harrisonburg, VA. His name, address and phone number is listed. Not sure if this is same person but I bet it is...only one Bill Neely listed. The dulcimer sounds interesting. Let us know what you find out.

They sure are pretty things. I want to see the Deluxe concert with the guitar finish if someone can get a picture of it.

They are super nice folks to deal with too, whether you are buying a $650 custom or a $15 "Dulci-can" kit. It is a tiny shop & they do not have a lot of accessories, but they usually have a good selection of McSpadden, T.K. O'Brien, Neely, and Eckard dulcimers.
