Your Pick for Super Bowl XL

Postby Tom » Mon Jan 23, 2006 8:29 pm

For the first time in many years I'm actually looking forward to the Super Bowl for reasons other than the commercials. It should be a good one. I will be rooting for the Seahawks but have to give Pittsburgh the edge if for no other reason than for Troy Polamalu. That dude is everywhere and will give Hasselbeck lots of grief. On the other hand, I don't think Rothlisberger will have as much time as he did against the Broncos. Seattle's defense is small in comparison to many teams but they are quick and smart. Should be fun. Tom

I couldn't really care less. (Team sports bore me.) But my wife is originally from Pittsburgh, and she'd probably want me to vote for them. So I did. Wink

Steelers - Ben Roethlisberger is really cute. . .and that tends to be my criteria for sports. . .at least when one of my regular teams isn't in the mix. . .

You were out voted: Bret Favre was voted as the sexiest player. Tom

Steelers, although I quit caring about pro football when the Browns moved to Baltimore. Big Ben does have a connection to our area, as he went to high school in Findlay a little north of here, and his family is mostly living around Lima. In fact his grandfather was in the same nursing home that my mother-in-law is in. I know that is more than you need or want to know. LOL! Larry

Oh, I don't think he's the sexiest but he is cute and that's good enough for me. I really wanted to see one of the Manning brothers (or both) in the Superbowl game but other than that I'm rather open about who to root for - mostly cause Texas is still lacking a really good team . . . maybe this years draft will change this.

Steelers! My family is from the Pittsburgh area and I always enjoyed trips there to see the grandmother and uncles. Plus the team has a name that reflects the history of the area. Polamalu is awesome. And I just like saying Roethlisberger. By the way, Ben's got a blog -- http://benroethlisberger.typepad.com/roethlisberger/

Marcy, repeat after me... Roethlisberger is sacked. Roethlisberger is sacked again. Roethlisberger loses 15. Roethlisberger is picked off for the 3rd time... How many times do you want to say it? LOL! LOL! LOL! Should be fun. Tom
