Tunable Bodhrán for sale (SOLD)

Postby mritchie » Sun Sep 20, 2009 9:58 am

18 inch wide, 4 inch deep rim, tunable, single skin bodhrán. Handmade by Michale VIgnoles, Galway, Ireland. Great drum, good tone, very responsive. Includes a padded case, “T” tuning key, as well as a maple and a teak tipper. Originally $250 for the drum and $30 for the case ($280).

I'm selling it to finance more whistles, and I'm playing one of my other bodhráns more. :D

I'm asking $200 for it, OBO. If $200 I'll pay shipping worldwide.

I'm not in the market for another bodhran myself, but can say that Mike's bodhrans (the Claddagh brand) are the only ones that I would buy sight unseen. Through the years at the Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio, I've seen a ton of his instruments and have never seen a thin skinned head on any of his drums. The Claddagh Bodhran is known for it's uniform skin and mellow tone. Just wanted to put in a good word for your bodhran, Mark. Your pictures show the uniformity of skin that is so nice to have, especially on a drum that is going to be played a lot.

Thanks FF for the good word.

This is a great drum for someone wanting to into Irish and Celtic music, or moving up from a cheap BSO (bodhran shaped object)!
