If anyone is looking for a LicketySplit Banjo (TM), I have some news: The original creators of the LicketySplit Banjo will soon be making a new batch of about 10 of these delightful hand-crafted instruments.

These 3-string banjos have an impressive sound, are easy to learn to play, and are fun for the unskilled and experienced musician alike.

This whole thread is just an ad to sell the banjos, isn't it? Is the original poster just a shill too?

I does look like an advertisement for the Lickety-Split Banjo. From the pictures it appears to be a dulcimer fret board attached to a wooden banjo head. It certainly has a nice sound. The marketplace is where one would advertise this type of instrument.

About the post regarding the LicketySplit Banjo.

Strumelia,

Sorry if EverythingDulcimer.com is not the place to talk about banjos. The first post which I have responded to really IS from somebody who was looking for a LicketySpit Banjo, (notice it is a year old)!

It's been a while since this company has produced these, and I see from the Internet blogs that a few people have been asking about this instrument.

We will see what the future holds for the LicketySplit Banjo. In the meantime, I have placed the new website for the LicketySplit Banjo online this weekend, so anyone who might be interested may contact the creators of this instrument.

There is also a small discussion about this instrument at http://www.BanjoHangout.org/topic/210555 (which I started in response to another thread on that site.) On this blog, a musician has posted an audio sample of the LicketySplit Banjo played claw-hammer style!

Best regards,

The LicketySplit Banjo (TM)

So, is it a banjimer or a dulcijo?

Neither. I would liken it more to a strum stick.
