Jess Dickinson has excellent information for beginners, and above. Unlike when I started playing 25+ years ago where it was either sink or swim, the internet now has an amazing amount of good instruction. Rick Thum conducts several sessions each year of his A-Z (literally) workshop. Jess - excellent. Dulcimer Player News, if you have not heard of it, is a great publication and there is more info on their website. At a loss for music when I first started, I picked up a hymn book for $5 and tried out all the tunes with two sharps in the key. Key of D, generally.

Did you check the EverythingDulcimer listing of clubs in or near your area?
