Making a bow?

It's a bow! It's a dulcimer. Now what do I do? :-)

Making a bow?

Postby mossanimal » Wed Nov 19, 2014 12:39 pm

I was looking through the forum and came across this thread: http://everythingdulcimer.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28843 In that thread there is a picture of a hand-made bow. Being pretty crafty with wood and a do-it-yourselfer.. I was wondering about taking this on. Does anybody have any info on this and if it's worth the effort? I'm also interested in making some instruments in the same fashion as what is in that thread. I do some bowl and cup carving from wood and I just made a couple of little adzes that would be perfect for hollowing out a body like that fellow did...

Well I just read the 'Bowed Dulcimer Basics' thread and got to where the discussion went to bows. I think I will hold off on bow making until I know a bit more of how to use them. ;)
