Need case

Postby Mistydawn » Thu Dec 08, 2016 10:08 pm

I also posted this under classifieds, but not sure everyone checks there. I'm looking for a replacement case for my 16/15 J&K hammered dulcimer. Any advice or resources would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Renee

recommended on the James Jones site. I got a very good case for the one I made through him years ago.

I had this company make two hammered dulcimer cases for me: http://www.coloradocase.com/customorders.aspx. They were soft cases. I do not travel often with my hammered dulcimer, so I have not used them much. I think they are of good construction.

I have used this company and they make excellent cases:

They made a harp case for me which is high quality. I sent a tracing of my harp and the case fits "like a glove". Its well worth your time to check out the website.

God bless - PTL

I and others I know have had bad experiences with Colorado Case Co. - I'd recommend NOT having them make a case for you.

In addition to being the most expensive, their design is flawed, the case they made for me didn't fit even though I sent them a tracing, they didn't do most of the things they had agreed to do even though I gave them a writeup about them with diagrams, and their customer service was terrible.

Caveat emptor!

Thanks for the update on Colorado Case, Jon. My purchases were 20 years ago, so things must have changed a great deal since then.
