A question for out youn dulcimer players

Postby daffytaffydulcimer » Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:16 am

I am writing a children's book with a mountain dulcimer as the main character. I was wondering if the young dulcimer players would find this story interesting and would consider reading a book about a mountain dulcimer and the different challenges and situations he may get into? This book is geared towards middle school - 6th and 7th grade. But I have already had a grade school teacher tell me she would still love to read it to her lower grade children.

A dulcimer for a character would be an awesome elementary picture book idea! Considering that thought? If so, I'd love to share it with my elementary music students. Cool idea!

I think it's a great idea and would be a wonderful way to get kids interested in music, in general.

Just a note to let you know that your are responding to a thread that is 3 1/2 years old. Dennis has published two books about Homer the dulcimer. Both are very interesting and fun to share with children you may purchase them through his website: http://www.dulcimerxing.com
