Free Tab for July 2017 - "On The Road to Boston"

Hi all,

I've just finished uploading this month's free tab arrangement on my website, Eagle Creek Music. Just in time for America's 241st birthday celebration, this month's free tab is an arrangement of the Revolutionary War era fife and drum march tune called "On the Road To Boston". Like most music popular in the American colonies at that time, it had its origins in the British Isles. The original name for this tune was "On The Road to London". General Green, commander of the Rhode Island militia, had his fife and drum corps play it when they marched from Rhode Island to Boston to help free that city from British occupation. For that reason, the tune is also sometimes referred to as "General Green's March". It has become a standard in old-time and bluegrass jam sessions.

Here's a link to a YouTube video of the tune being performed by the New England Conservatory Country Fiddle Band:

This is a 3-part arrangement, so find a couple of playing partners and enjoy.

Wishing you all a safe and happy July 4th Holiday!

In music and friendship,
--Tull
